Corridors: A Living Labyrinth Game is a solo card game about buying knowledge in a place that sells it dearly. One player, 72 cards, three resources, and a single door at the bottom of the deck. It began as a physical prototype — designed, simulated, and playtested through nine full revisions — and the browser version at this site runs the exact same audited game engine that validates the physical deck. When you play here, you are playing the real game: every rule enforced, every win verified by the server, every deck secret kept behind what the design calls the Sight Wall — the dealer never shows you a card you have not paid to know.
The name is the design philosophy. Most maze games hand you a fixed place and ask you to solve it; in Corridors, the labyrinth is alive, and it changes while you walk it. Your own choices reshape the deck as you descend — corridors fold and rotate, halls sink behind you, the fire erases rooms and the ashes give them back, and the deeper acts twist harder than the shallow ones. You are not solving a map; you are negotiating with a place that answers your movements with its own. At the bottom waits the reason for all of it: the Heart of the Living Labyrinth, the living force that powers the maze — hungry, watchful, and only willing to be answered by a wanderer who arrives carrying everything it demands. Deck One is titled Heart of Hunger because every labyrinth has a Heart, and every Heart wants something different — which is also the promise of what comes after this deck.
Information is the scarcest resource. The card that helps you decide safely — the peek ahead — costs the same Thread you need for the fire, the doors, and the toll. Everything else in the game hangs off that one tension. The deck ships in factory order: a maze built by hand, winnable by a careful player, taxing every lazy habit. A shuffled Chaos mode exists for those who prefer the maze honest and cruel.
This is a live beta. The deck is version 1.9; the rules text on this site is served from the same data file the engine plays. There is a print-and-play PDF and hand-made decks from $35 (Surge and Rainbow foil editions too), and a standing wager on the homepage: top any leaderboard and a physical deck ships to you free, anywhere USPS delivers.
